The Bushwick Book Club Seattle Presents Original music inspired by Kim Gordon’s Girl in a Band. Kim Gordon was the bass player for Sonic Youth, and this memoir chronicals much of her story leading up to the formation and destruction of the band. Not to mention the interesting life she had on that journey. She certainly found herself growing up with some very interesting people all over the country, and being apart of a music scene that was just as much a battle as it is today.

But at its core, Girl in a Bandexamines the route from girl to woman in uncharted territory, music, art career, what partnership means—and what happens when that identity dissolves.
